One of the premier trips in this area is a jet boat ride upriver to Agness and beyond!

There are two outfitters that offer trips upriver in modern jet boats. The first to use jet boats on the Rogue was Jerry's Jet Boats and the longest established company taking passengers upriver is Mailboats. As noted in our history section, mailboats were an important element in the opening of this territory during the nineteenth century. Travel inland was extraordinarily difficult and the early pioneers used the Rogue River as an avenue into the interior. In 1895 the United States Government established mailboat service to deliver the mail to the hardy souls who had established farms in the area below Blossum Bar (the furthest point inland that is navigatable on the lower Rogue River). Today, the very modern Mailboats offer to take passengers over this same route in high speed hydro- jet powered watercraft specifically constructed for safe travel on the Rogue River.
